This mock before-and-after Photoshop project demonstrates advanced photo manipulation techniques through controlled lighting, color grading, and depth enhancement. The goal was to transform a flat, muted image into a dynamic, photorealistic composition that evokes natural overcast lighting and visual depth.

The process involved precise masking to separate elements of the image for independent color and tonal adjustments, allowing full control over light and texture. Using Photoshop’s adjustment layers, I refined color balance, contrast, and exposure to reintroduce natural tones while maintaining a realistic atmosphere. A custom displacement map was used to create a believable underwater shadow, subtly distorted to follow the water’s surface and light diffusion for added realism.

Software Used: Adobe Photoshop

Results: A cohesive and lifelike image that highlights mastery of lighting, color, and depth—bringing the scene to life with balanced tones and a cinematic sense of realism.
